DESCRIPTION:Today\, the LODI RULES applications and fees are due to Protected Harvest for growers wishing to certify their winegrapes as sustainable for the 2026 vintage. The Lodi Winegrape Commission asked Protected Harvest if they could offer a temporary discount on the fees since so many growers are struggling right now. Jackson (Cal Poly Humboldt) alongside Dr. Daniel Karp and PhD student Karen Gallardo Cruz (UC Davis) have been actively monitoring over 200 American barn owl nest boxes in Lodi and surrounding areas\, including one at the Lodi Winegrape Commission’s Demo Vineyard. This nest box is home to returning pair Poppy and Yarrow\, who are back for a second year and are currently raising a new family of five chicks. Growers and the community are invited to stop by to meet the team\, the barn owl babies\, and watch how scientists tag the young owls.
