SUMMARY:Field day: DIY research - May 28
DESCRIPTION:Do-it-yourself (DIY) research is an excellent way for growers to find practical answers to their viticulture questions. We often rely on university researchers for scientific insights. However\, with a little training\, growers can conduct simple and low-cost field research trials in their own vineyards. According to those who use such methods\,“Until you do research\, you’re really only guessing. When you have the numbers in front of you\, you know”. DIY research puts the power of science in the growers’ hands. \nAt this field meeting Mark Browning will illustrate several DIY methods for evaluating the effectiveness of barn owls at controlling rodent populations in vineyards. Come prepared to roll up your shirt sleeves\, ask your own research questions\, collect your own data\, and make your own conclusions. \nCoffee and donuts will be served. Please RSVP to Molly Bjork by Friday May 17th at (209) 367-4727 or molly@lodiwine.com. Sorry\, no continuing education credits will be offered.
