One thing to add, from the point of view of the wineries, growers that are good at communicating with winemakers during the growing season will develop good word-of-mouth among the network of smaller, more upscale wineries. (Winemakers talk to each other almost as much as growers.)

As Jeff mentioned, in addition, growers that are willing to accommodate winemaker requests in regard to pruning, shoot-thinning, and other viticultural practices will have more success. Remember that you can start premiumization with just a few rows, as the quantity required by these more upscale wineries is much smaller than the usual big-volume operations.]]></description>
