Description: Our group meets monthly to discuss current vineyard pests and their management. The goal is to create a strong local network for communicating the best IPM strategies and for support in solving viticulture anomalies. This month, Dr. Justin Tanner (UC Viticulture Farm Advisor) will discuss the basics of Pierce’s Disease, which is caused by a bacteria called Xylella fastidiosa. Pierce’s Disease has been reported in San Joaquin County. Dr. Kendra Baumgartner (USDA) will also host an interactive workshop on root health focusing on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.
