First Paragraph: Planting a vineyard with cuttings rather than rootings is a common practice in some years. The choice is usually based on the availability and cost of rootings. Placing a nursery order a year in advance is the best assurance for a source of rootings. some nurseries produce rootings on speculation each year, but the market potential and overall nursery success can not be accurately predicted each year.
