Project Objective: To evaluate the growth, yield, and quality difference, if any, of some of the available chardonnay clones from the Foundation Plant Materials Service (FPMS), U.C. Davis selection. Chardonnay will continue to become an increasingly important white wine variety for the Lodi area. Any differences currently known about the clones are site specific and based on anecdotal experience. Local growers will need to know which clone, if any, will suit their vineyard and marketing needs.
