For 18 years, the Sustainable Ag Expo has brought together farmers, ag professionals, and pest control advisors to learn about the latest in farming research, resource issues, and business trends related to sustainable agriculture.

The program is tailored specifically to meet the needs of growers, providing access to the latest research and field-tested practices in areas such as precise agriculture, rootstock research, weed management, and climate-smart practices. Attendee Bart Haycraft says, “It’s a forum for sharing knowledge and experiences with each other.”

The headline speaker this year is Dr. Terry Bates, Director, of Cornell Lake Erie Research and Extension Lab Cornell AgriTech. Dr. Bates will speak about integrating multiple layers of spatial vineyard information into variable-rate management maps and the myths, misperceptions, and motivations for precision vineyard management. His research program focuses on viticulture with an integrated systems approach to vine productivity, fruit quality, and farm profitability. Research interests and contributions include vine mineral nutrition and root biology to control vegetative growth, mechanized vineyard management for fruit quality and labor reduction, and Precision Viticulture to increase production efficiency.

This year farmers, ag professionals, and pest control advisors will have the opportunity to learn about the latest farming research, resource issues, and business trends related to sustainable agriculture during two days of seminars and tradeshow. By popular request, the event is expanding its online course offering to include 10 hours of content available from October 16 through November 30, 2023.

The Sustainable Ag Expo is sponsored by Vineyard Industry Products along with Advancing Eco Agriculture, Apollo Ag Technologies, BioWorks, CalWest Rain Inc, Corteva Agriscience, FBSciences, Inc., Gearmore, Inc., Helena Agri-Enterprises, Jim’s Supply Co., Inc.
